Established in 2013 as part of the Netball NSW Premier League competition, Panthers Premier League Netball was formed through a collaboration between Penrith Netball, Blue Mountains Netball Association, and Hawkesbury District Netball Association, with the support of Panthers Rugby League Club. The Premier League serves as a pathway between association-level netball and State and Australian representation.
The competition initially featured eight franchises, including Panthers, Manly Warringah Sapphires, GWS Fury, ERNA Hawks, North Shore United, Sutherland Stingrays, UTS Randwick Sparks, and Central Coast Heart. In 2020, Capital Spirit (ACT) and South Coast Blaze (Illawarra) joined the league.
Panthers’ Under 20s team secured top honours in the league’s inaugural season, later transitioning to the Under 23s division in 2020. Despite disruptions caused by Covid in 2020 and 2021, the franchise has maintained strong performance, with junior players advancing to State and Australian teams, including one player representing the Swifts.
Panthers Premier League Netball continues to foster talent and elevate the sport within the region.
