Pendragons Dragon Boat Club Launches New Panthers Boat on the Nepean River
The Pendragons Dragon Boat Club has officially launched its brand new Panthers-themed dragon boat on the Nepean River, marking an exciting milestone made possible through funding from Panthers Penrith’s ClubGRANTS program.
The launch brought together club members, supporters and paddlers for a memorable morning on the water, with the celebration also doubling as a Jersey Day to help kick off the 2026 NRL season. Dressed in their favourite NRL jerseys and Pendragons gear, participants added plenty of colour, energy and community spirit to the special occasion.
The new boat proudly features Panthers colours, creating a striking new presence on the Nepean River and reflecting the strong connection between Panthers Penrith and local community sport.
Pendragons Dragon Boat Club shared that one of the biggest talking points of the morning was who would have the honour of paddling in the new Panthers boat first, adding a fun and light-hearted touch to an already meaningful event.
This latest project highlights the impact of Panthers Penrith’s ClubGRANTS program, which continues to support grassroots organisations, local sport and community groups across the region. By helping fund initiatives like this, Panthers Penrith is investing in opportunities that bring people together, encourage active lifestyles and strengthen local connections.
The launch of the new boat is more than just a celebration of new equipment. It is a proud example of community partnership in action, showing how local funding can directly support clubs that create belonging, teamwork and opportunities for people of all ages.
With the new Panthers-themed dragon boat now officially on the water, locals are likely to spot the Pendragons flying down the Nepean River in true Panthers style.
Panthers Penrith is proud to support organisations like Pendragons Dragon Boat Club through ClubGRANTS and help deliver real outcomes for the local community.
