Cash Housie Players Help Raise More Than $90,000 for Panthers Foundation

Every game is helping create a stronger future for our local community

There is more than a prize on the line when our members come together for Cash Housie at Panthers Penrith.

Over the past 12 months, Cash Housie has helped raise more than $90,000 for Panthers Foundation, turning the continued support of our players into meaningful opportunities for young people and families across our local community.

It is an incredible milestone and one that belongs to every Cash Housie player who has taken part.

From Cash Housie to community impact

Week after week, our Cash Housie community comes together to play, connect and enjoy the game. Behind every session, however, is an even bigger story.

Funds raised through Cash Housie help Panthers Foundation continue its work across education, community and participation, delivering programs designed to create positive and lasting change for people across Penrith and Western Sydney.

Panthers Foundation works closely with local schools, families, mentors and community organisations to provide young people with opportunities to build confidence, develop important life skills and feel more connected to their community.

For many participants, particularly young people experiencing disadvantage or at risk of disengaging from education, these programs can provide support at an important point in their lives.

Building Young Men

Building Young Men is a group mentoring program supporting male students in Years 9 and 10.

Through weekly sessions with experienced role models, participants are encouraged to develop confidence, emotional awareness, resilience and stronger relationships with the people around them.

The program creates a positive and supportive environment where young men can openly discuss challenges, set goals and develop the skills to become empathetic, accountable and confident members of their community.

Since the program began, more than 240 young men have participated alongside more than 130 adult mentors.

Empowering Young Women

Empowering Young Women provides Year 9 students with a safe and supportive environment to talk, learn and grow alongside female mentors from the community.

The program helps young women navigate some of the challenges that come with adolescence, from confidence and relationships to study, future goals, social pressures and wellbeing.

Through shared experiences and positive mentoring, participants are encouraged to recognise their strengths, broaden their perspectives and understand they do not need to navigate life’s challenges alone.

Supporting local primary school students

Panthers Foundation’s Primary Classroom Program has been supporting local students since 2002.

Designed for students in Years 3 to 6 who may be at risk of disengaging from school or who would benefit from additional wellbeing support, the program combines classroom learning with activities focused on confidence, social skills, engagement and personal development.

Around 120 students from 12 to 16 local schools take part each year, with approximately 2,500 students having participated since the program began.

The impact can be seen in the small but important changes participants make, from becoming more confident and focused to developing a more positive attitude towards school and the people around them.

$90,000 raised, countless moments of impact

More than $90,000 raised through Cash Housie over the past 12 months helps Panthers Foundation employ dedicated community-focused staff, deliver its programs and provide the equipment and resources needed to support participants.

But the true value of that contribution goes well beyond a dollar figure.

It can be found in a student rediscovering their confidence. A young person finding a trusted mentor. A child becoming more engaged at school. Or a teenager learning how to build healthier, more respectful relationships.

These are the stories behind the $90,000 milestone.
