At Panthers, we understood that our community’s safety was our top priority. That’s why we proudly partnered with Heart of the Nation to establish a comprehensive AED (Automated External Defibrillator) responder program across our club sites, creating a network of life-saving support for our members and the broader community.

The Critical Need We Addressed

Every year, sudden cardiac arrest affected approximately 28,000 Australians, with devastating consequences. The statistics we faced were sobering:

• 90% of people did not survive a sudden cardiac arrest
• Victims had only minutes to live without immediate intervention
• 80% of cardiac arrests occurred in homes, making community access to AEDs crucial
• Rapid access to an AED within 3-5 minutes could achieve survival rates as high as 72%

Our Community-Focused Solution

Panthers recognised that with most cardiac emergencies happening near residential areas, we needed to position life-saving equipment where our community could access it quickly. We implemented a strategic AED placement program that transformed our club sites into community safety hubs.
