The Haven – Domestic Violence Shelter

Panthers is proudly partnering to support women rebuilding their lives since 2017.

At Panthers, we are proud to support a vital organisation that is making a profound difference in the lives of women and children affected by domestic violence. This incredible organisation is dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where women can rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

Through a range of specialised support services, they offer:

  • A safe haven for women and their children escaping domestic violence

  • Practical knowledge and emotional support with a strengths-based, empowering approach

  • Personalised guidance to help women regain confidence and control over their lives

  • Services that foster independence, resilience, and freedom from violence

  • A strong sense of community, connection, and safety to promote overall wellbeing

These services are not only essential—they’re life-changing. They help break the cycle of violence and create pathways to long-term safety and independence. Panthers is honoured to stand alongside an organisation that plays such a crucial role in building a stronger, safer community for women and families.

Penrith Community Kitchen

Penrith Community Kitchen has been a cornerstone of compassion in the Penrith community since 1994, offering free, nutritious meals to individuals facing homelessness, financial hardship, or social isolation. Operating Monday to Friday during lunch hours, the kitchen serves approximately 100 meals daily, including bread, soup, fresh fruit, and sweets. Beyond daily meals, the organisation provides emergency food hampers, frozen meals, and seasonal support through initiatives like the Winter Appeal and Christmas Lunch, ensuring no one in Penrith goes hungry.

A significant contributor to these efforts is Panthers, whose generous donations help fund essential programs such as “Food for Local Kids.” This initiative supplies breakfast, lunch, snacks, and emergency food to 11 local schools and PCYC Penrith, addressing child hunger and supporting students’ educational engagement. The program operates at a cost of approximately $700 per month per school, relying on community support and partnerships to sustain its impact.

Penrith Community Kitchen thrives on the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of local businesses and organisations like Panthers. Panthers’ support enables the kitchen to maintain its mission of providing nourishment and comfort to those in need. As the organisation continues to serve the community, ongoing donations and volunteer efforts remain crucial to its success.

Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy – Supporting the Penrith Community Through Music Therapy

With the ongoing support from Panthers, Noro continues to deliver life-changing music therapy programs to people across the Penrith region. For over 20 years, Noro has been a trusted name in clinical music therapy, helping individuals of all ages—from toddlers to centenarians—improve their health and wellbeing through evidence-based, therapeutic practices.

Each week, more than 1,300 people benefit from Noro’s individual and group sessions, held at local clinics in Kingswood, Penrith, Glenbrook, Richmond, and Annangrove. Panthers’ contributions help expand access to these services and fund outreach programs in schools, hospitals, community centres, and aged care homes—ensuring that vital care reaches those who need it most.

In response to growing demand and evolving community needs, Noro also offers Noro Online—an innovative digital platform providing pre-produced therapy sessions for individuals unable to attend in person. With Panthers’ support, Noro continues to break barriers and strengthen community wellbeing through the power of music

WestCare

WestCare is a Penrith-based not-for-profit organisation dedicated to alleviating poverty, distress, and helplessness in the local community since 1977. Through generous support from local partners, including the Panthers, WestCare provides essential services such as emergency relief, domestic violence support, and youth programs—all free of charge.

A key program that Panthers supports is Nepean HomeStart, which assists families transitioning from homelessness by supplying HomeStart Kits, which are comprehensive home setup packs that help establish a stable living environment. These kits, often provided on the first day of tenancy, aim to create a sense of belonging and prevent future homelessness. Also supported by Panthers, Penrith Men’s Walk and Talk is a weekly event fostering mental health and community connection among local men. Held every Thursday evening, participants enjoy a friendly walk and free coffee, promoting open conversations in a supportive environment.

WestCare’s impactful work in the Penrith community is made possible through donations and support from individuals and organisations like the Panthers. Their commitment to restoring dignity and hope continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many.

Zonta Club of Nepean Valley

The Zonta Club of Nepean Valley is a dedicated volunteer organisation committed to advancing the status of women through service and advocacy across the Penrith community. With the generous support of Panthers’ ClubGRANTS funding, Zonta recently packed and distributed 200 backpacks filled with essential items to women in need. These were delivered to five key local charities—DV West, The Multicultural Community Centre, WestCare, The Haven, and Penrith Women’s Health Centre—supporting women experiencing domestic violence, homelessness, or other hardships.

Through projects like this, Zonta Nepean Valley works to empower women and promote gender equity at a grassroots level. The Club’s work aligns with its mission to build a better world for women and girls through sustainable community action. Donations from Panthers help make this meaningful impact possible, providing practical support where it’s needed most.

Family of League – Supporting the Rugby League Community – On and Off the Field

Family of League is the dedicated charity at the heart of rugby league, providing vital financial, emotional and social support to those doing it tough. From volunteers and players to referees and administrators, we’re here for the everyday heroes who help rugby league thrive at every level.

Originally founded in 2002 as Men of League by rugby league legends Ron Coote, Jim Hall and Max Brown, Family of League continues their legacy of mateship and support. As an independent grassroots organisation, we’re committed to standing by our rugby league community – offering a helping hand when it’s needed most.

In 2024, Panthers Penrith proudly donated $10,000 to Family of League, providing vital assistance to 15 individuals and their families—supporting a total of 56 people. This contribution helped cover essential living costs such as medical expenses, food, fuel, rent, mortgage payments, school fees, utility bills, and car-related costs like registration and servicing. Beyond financial relief, the donation also created opportunities for volunteers to offer meaningful social and emotional support through regular visits and community engagement.

Sporting Organisations

Panthers is proud to champion grassroots sport in the Penrith community by supporting a diverse range of local clubs and organisations through vital donations and funding. From long-standing institutions like Boronia Bowls and Glenbrook Panthers Men’s Bowling Club to dynamic teams such as the Nepean Ducks and West Wyalong Rugby League, these groups offer inclusive opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to stay active, connected and engaged through sport.

Our support extends across a wide spectrum of codes and interests, including the Panthers Baseball and Cricket Clubs, Panthers Premier League Netball, Panthers Snooker, and the Pendragons Dragon Boat Club. Social and recreational groups like the Panthers Fishing Club, Panthers Social Euchre, and Panthers Social Golf Club are also included, ensuring a holistic approach to community wellbeing and recreation. Panthers’ contribution helps these organisations provide coaching, equipment, safe facilities, and events that build confidence, skills, and community spirit.

Through initiatives like funding for the Penrith District Netball Association, Penrith Referees’ Association, Penrith Valley Sports Foundation, and Redline Games – Nepean Triathlon, Panthers continues to invest in the future of local sport. These partnerships not only foster talent and teamwork but also reflect our ongoing commitment to nurturing healthy, connected communities across Penrith and beyond.
