Manly - will agin be in the top 4
Storm - will start to fade, top 8 only
Sharks - Top 4
Warriors - top 8, are still hot and cold but getting better
Roosters - Miss the 8,
Broncos - Top 8, will have a few post Wayne dramas but always there.
Raiders - Miss the 8, teams will be prepared for them next year
Dragons - top 8 Wayne will ensure they are in the semi's
Knights - Miss the 8, a one man team now, stop Gidley, stop the Knights
Tigers - Will mis the 8, 2 or 3 players off being there.
Eels, will improve, might slip into the 8
Titans - hard one, i think teams knows there game now so will be harder for them
Souths - Miss the 8 they won't be any worse but don't think they'll be much better
Cowboys - Miss the 8 in the same boat as the Knights, stop JT and there nothing
Bulldogs - will improve but might just miss the 8

Panthers, we are good enough if our heads and hearts are in it.

So top 4. Sharks and Manly

Top 8 Warriors, Broncos, Dragons, Storm, Eels,

Close ? Titans, Panthers, Bulldogs, Roosters

Outsiders, Knights, Raiders, Souths

No hope, Tigers and Cowboys

My tip is that the Rorters will be the team to suffer the biggest drop (bottom 4) and the mighty Panthers to make the 8.

Tom.

..The Panthers will be fine in '09

What is it with the negative comments?
Penrith players can read these forums and reading some of these comments would put there self esteem down. If you are a true blue panther supporter youd be saying panthers are going to win.
Anyway my pick
Premiers: Panthers
Minor Premiers: Manly
Spoon: Storm i dont like storm
Dally M: Jennings or Gordon but even Brett Stewart
Highest win for penrith: 64-6
Highest loss: 24-12

Black Magic Premiership in 09

Rabbitohs in the top five. Manly to win it again. Manly v Brisbane or Dragons Grand Final.

I like it MX, i hope JTK goes well, and i think M.Gordon is a cert for Origin next year. Not a fan of B.Stewart though, Dally M. B.Kite

Brett Stewart is quickly becoming one of the games best fullbacks IMO.

I'm not a massive fan of his, but he has an amazing ability to set up tries from bullsh*t passes, score tries with very little space to work with and is even handy for taking pressure off the kickers.

Billy Slater is still the best fullback IMO, but he is likely to get suspended at some point next season and miss out on some Dally M points.

Premiers: Penrith
Runners up: Melbourne
Minor Premiers: Melbourne
Wooden Spoon: Parramatta
Origin: NSW 3-0, Jennings to star
May Test: NZ in upset, thanks to Pritchard
2008 non finalists to make it in 09: Penrith, Gold Coast and Souths
2008 semifinalists to miss out in 09: Brisbane, Cronulla and Roosters
Dally M: Scott Prince just pipping Inglis and Petero
Top tryscorer: Michael Jennings
Clive Churchill Medal: Michael Jennings

I can feel a big year for the Black Attack!!!

1. Manly. Shall be stronger next season. Scary thought.

2. Storm. Weaker on paper, but still the best coached. Will use the Cameron Smith malarkey to fire them up.

3.Cowboys. May start off slowly with a new coach and new methods, but a Bowen/Thurston/Payne combination is what dreams are made of for NQ supporters.

4. Broncos. Strong squad, arguably stronger as Wallace will be completely settled and Lockyer should be fully fit to start the season. Loss of Hannant will be compensated with the rise and rise of Kenny and Taylor.

5. Titans. Would have been Finals players had Prince not got injured. Looked real good until all those injuries, arguably a stronger squad for 09.

6. Sharks. Well coached but it depends on whether Barrett can settle.

7. Dragons. Bought well. New coach, new attitude.

8. Knights. Well coached. Every player knows their role in the team.

9. Dogs. Bought well. They look sorted in key positions. Will be biggest improvers.

10. Roosters. Have the cattle, but question marks over motivation and Freddy and his tactics.

11. Panthers. Consistency will be the biggest problem. Have the talent to scare the big teams though. Won't see the best of the team until 2010/11, providing the core group of players remain at the club.

12. Warriors. No halves, although they didn't have any in 08 either but will be more of a problem in 09.

13. Parramatta. Aging forward pack, haven't bought anyone, and serious motivational/attitude problems.

14. Souths. Decent starting 17, but not much after these players. Will have to hope injuries will be kind to them.

15. Canberra. Dream run in 08, everybody's second team, but big question marks over new coach and his tactics and whether he can get the players up week in and week out.

16. Tigers. Tim Sheens admits he has deadwood at the club. They've bought nobody except for Gareth Ellis and lost a few. Light forward pack again, and will rely too much on Benji Marshall which is not a good thing. He cannot organise and Sheens has earmarked him as a halfback in 09.

Of course these rankings are subject to change depending on injuries in the off-season and throughout the 09 season.
